"Since I was young, I was drawn toward animals. It wasn't enough for me just to "have" animals. I studied everything I could about all kinds of critters. I needed to know how to properly care for them, what to feed them, what to do when they got sick. I was always intrigued by how the body worked, and I was never squeamish about anything. I remember using tweezers to pull a large, squirmimg larvae out of one of my barn cat's head when I was about eight years old! I was always eager to help the vet when she came out to see my horses. I knew that was what I wanted to do when I got older. Veterinary medicine provides me the opportunity to give back to the animals that have given me unconditional love through the years. It is a dynamic career in which I never stop learning.".
